This company is a scam. I lost over $3200 for them

    Date: Apr 20 2024

Summary: This company is a scam. I lost over $3200 for them
I received a notification from their system stating that I exceeded my monthly request limit and my current subscription plan does not allow any further API requests for this period. However, I can request more and they will charge me an additional amount. I am confused about this. I have already paid a significant amount for their API and I feel like this is a scam.
Additionally, my Master Card expires on 05.2022. So, I would like to know why they will charge me after my card has expired. It makes me question the legitimacy of your services.
This company charged me $400+ per month for a basic plan with an annual fee of $99.99. I lost over $3200 for them. Despite multiple refund requests, they have not responded and are likely a scam.

Positive: In the first three years, I have been using the Basic plan for $99.99 per year. However, I have exceeded my monthly request limit, and my current subscription plan does not allow any further API requests for this period. This is ok for my business and I am happy with this.

Negative: Starting September 2023, the service provider will charge extra fees if my request exceeds the limit of my subscription plan. However, I recently received a notification from their system stating that I have already exceeded the monthly request limit allowed by my current subscription plan.

    Auto-Renew without warning and agressive

    Date: Aug 02 2023

Summary: APILayer auto-renew their service without any warning. They ask you to cancel IN WRITTING 30 days before, you better write it down yourself as they won't tell you before it's due. They moved away from Paypal since Paypal was probably protecting their customers from them. Now they keep sending baseless legal action to force a payment for a service not used since ages. They don't reply to any request about more information just keep threatening. Avoid at any cost.

    Positive: - Ease of use
    - Documentation is okay
    - Setup was okay
    - Pricing at beginning was okay, but it increased by 50% without warning.

    Negative: - Very aggressive
    - Auto renew without warning
    - Threaten legal action with no leeway
    - Does not listen
