Description
VidBee is an open-source desktop application that allows users to download and manage video and audio content from various supported platforms, as well as import media files stored locally. It features a download queue, playlists, the ability to download channels, options for format and subtitles, and subscription feed management, along with batch processing and local file organization capabilities. Using speech-recognition models installed on the user's device, VidBee can generate searchable transcripts complete with timestamps and speaker identification, which can then be exported as text or subtitles. Users have the ability to search through transcripts to quickly locate specific moments and can utilize prompts to summarize, translate, and organize transcript content by connecting with AI services they set up, either in the cloud or locally. Additionally, a Docker-based version of VidBee is available for self-hosting on various platforms such as NAS devices, home servers, or cloud virtual machines, with access via a web browser on the local network. The application supports desktop versions for Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it versatile for different operating systems. With its user-friendly interface and robust features, VidBee aims to enhance the way users interact with their media collections.
Description
Easily upload both subtitle and video files to seamlessly synchronize text with video content. By providing the video alongside a raw transcript file that lacks timeline information, the system will automatically generate timestamps for the transcriptions. After editing your subtitles online, you can conveniently download either the subtitle files or the video with embedded subtitles. The platform supports a variety of original video languages including English, Spanish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, French, Thai, Russian, Portuguese, German, Italian, Vietnamese, and Arabic. To maintain clarity, a single line word limit is enforced, ensuring that no more than a specified number of words appear in each subtitle line. This means that in cases where a paragraph is lengthy, the system intelligently divides the text to comply with the single line word restriction, thereby enhancing the visibility of the subtitles and making them easier to read. Additionally, this feature caters to a diverse audience by accommodating various language preferences.
