Description

Thorium implements various adjustments to the compiler configuration file, significantly enhancing browser performance, albeit at the expense of increased size. It utilizes the official builds of Chrome and incorporates Profile Guided Optimization (PGO), a strategy that leverages a profile data file produced by a profiler to refine the entire binary. This profiler conducts a preliminary run of the binary, capturing data on which code sections are most frequently accessed, their memory access behaviors, and the data they commonly retrieve. While numerous Chromium-based browsers incorporate some of these optimizations, Thorium stands out by combining all of them to deliver an exceptionally efficient browsing experience across platforms including Linux, Windows, MacOS, and Raspberry Pi. This comprehensive approach not only enhances speed but also aims to provide users with a seamless and responsive interface, making it a preferred choice for those seeking ultimate performance.

Description

bmux is a web browser designed specifically for developers, researchers, and those collaborating with browser agents. It features a unique layout that organizes tabs into split panes and assigns named sessions within a single window, while distinct profiles keep logins and browser data separate. The browser emphasizes keyboard-centric functionalities, offering shortcuts, Vim-style navigation, click hints, and floating reference panels for enhanced usability. Users can leverage its command-line interface to manage a chosen pane for tasks like navigating websites, inspecting the DOM, executing clicks, typing, and capturing screenshots; sessions can run in the background and be accessed later for review. The application supports mobile viewport presets and allows for per-profile proxy configurations, facilitating effective browser automation processes. bmux is freely available as open-source software under the GPLv3 license. Desktop versions are compatible with macOS and Windows, while a portable version for Linux enables remote browser access. Currently in its early preview stage, this browser does not depend on tmux to function efficiently. Its innovative approach sets it apart as a valuable tool for modern web development and research activities.
