Description
SPC stands for “Statistical Process Control,” a method that has gained significant traction since the mid-1980s, particularly within the American automotive sector. In French, this technique is referred to as “Contrôle Statistique des Processus” (SPM). The primary aim of SPC is to minimize scrap and rework rates through effective quality control of ongoing production, coupled with sampling methods, thereby anticipating issues related to non-quality. Utilizing SPC software allows for the real-time monitoring of processes and sends alerts if control limits are breached. © Infodream. Among the notifications generated are warnings about overruns of control limits, which are more stringent than tolerance limits, as well as indications of trends that suggest process degradation. This proactive approach enables manufacturers to address potential quality issues before producing defective parts. Importantly, this technique is versatile and can be applied to various manufacturing processes, whether producing in small batches or large volumes, and regardless of whether 100% inspection or sampling is employed. Ultimately, SPC contributes to maintaining high-quality standards in production.
Description
The Explitia Production Portal is a specialized platform crafted for manufacturing facilities seeking enhanced visibility, control, and organization within their production workflows. This system integrates business logic, data visualization, user workflows, reporting, and diagnostic tools into a comprehensive interface.
By utilizing the platform, manufacturers can gather and streamline data from various sources such as machines, sensors, PLCs, ERP systems, and operator inputs, consolidating crucial production insights in one centralized location. This capability allows teams to effectively oversee shop floor activities, monitor production timelines, quickly identify downtime and process anomalies, decrease the need for manual reporting, and make informed operational decisions based on trustworthy data.
Additionally, the Production Portal is designed to accommodate MES-related functions, including managing production orders, monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), maintaining traceability, ensuring quality control, providing maintenance support, and facilitating production reporting. Rather than being a rigid and unchangeable product, it offers a versatile environment that can be customized to fit the specific processes of each plant, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and adaptability.
