Description
PAVER is a pavement maintenance management system that emerged in the late 1970s to aid the Department of Defense (DOD) in overseeing the upkeep and repair of its vast pavement assets. By leveraging inspection data alongside a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) that ranges from zero (indicating failure) to 100 (indicating excellent condition), it effectively captures pavement statuses and forecasts future maintenance and repair requirements. The PCI for airport pavements was formalized as an ASTM standard in 1993 (D5340-10), and similarly for roads and parking lots in 1999 (D6433-09). PAVER™ conducts various analyses to ensure the effective distribution of maintenance and repair resources. The system's development has received backing from organizations such as the US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, Federal Aviation Administration, and Federal Highway Administration, emphasizing its importance. Furthermore, Colorado State University provides training and technology support services for non-DOD users, enhancing its accessibility. During inspections of concrete pavements, the software also enables users to create graphical representations of individual concrete panels, thus improving clarity in reporting findings. Overall, PAVER plays a crucial role in maintaining pavement quality and ensuring efficient resource utilization across various sectors.
Description
eFieldData serves as a comprehensive electronic system for managing field data, functioning as a cloud-based platform that automates workflows in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and field inspection tasks. By integrating scheduling, work orders, mobile data collection, laboratory testing, reporting, timesheet management, invoicing, and client communications, it creates a streamlined, centralized workflow. Field technicians benefit from a mobile application available on both iOS and Android, enabling them to easily access project information, log results from tests on asphalt, concrete, soil, and more, as well as attach site photographs and GPS-tag their locations while synchronizing data in real time. The platform features standardized electronic forms equipped with built-in calculations and complies with ASTM, AASHTO, and state DOT standards, enhancing reliability through automated validation that minimizes data-entry mistakes and boosts overall consistency. Additionally, field samples are seamlessly transferred into lab management, allowing technicians to monitor samples, conduct tests, apply predefined calculations, and produce reports without the need for duplicate data entry or manual matching, ensuring an efficient and error-free workflow. This innovative approach not only enhances productivity but also ensures that quality control is maintained throughout the entire data management process.
