Identity Recovery backs up Entra ID users, groups, attributes, policies, and other identity information, including objects and attributes that exist only in the cloud. Protected information can include roles, licenses, MFA data, group memberships, application attributes, users, applications, and devices. Difference reporting compares backups against live Active Directory and Entra ID environments to help administrators identify unwanted modifications, deletions, and other potentially harmful changes. Administrators can search for modified or deleted identity objects and selectively restore individual users, attributes, or cloud-only items rather than performing an unnecessarily broad recovery. Bulk recovery capabilities allow multiple Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 objects to be restored simultaneously without requiring PowerShell.
