Description
MicMac is an open-source photogrammetric suite, licensed under Cecill-B, designed for a range of 3D reconstruction applications. While the software primarily targets professional and academic users, there are ongoing efforts to enhance its accessibility for a broader audience. One of its key advantages is its impressive versatility, allowing it to be applied across diverse domains such as cartography, environmental studies, industry, forestry, heritage preservation, and archaeology. MicMac facilitates the generation of both 3D models and ortho-imagery when suitable. It is capable of handling objects of various sizes, from small items and statues captured from ground level to larger structures like churches and castles using drone imagery, as well as extensive environments like buildings, cities, or natural landscapes through aerial or satellite methods. Furthermore, the software provides tools for georeferencing products in local, global, or absolute coordinate systems. Additionally, several supplementary tools expand its capabilities into metrology and site surveying, enriching its functionality in professional applications.
Description
Manufacturers today demand enhanced reporting, traceability, and data continuity more than ever before. The use of intelligent 3D CAD models has become the benchmark for design authority in manufacturing, perpetuating the digital thread throughout the entire production process. Verisurf metrology software allows users to instantly observe discrepancies between the nominal CAD design and the actual finished part in real time. This tool is exceptionally suited for rapid, in-process first article inspections or automated production evaluations that optimize manufacturing operations. Inspection plan setup time can be drastically cut down from hours to mere minutes, with a minimal learning curve required. The software works seamlessly with any Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) through an innovative, intuitive click-and-build visual interface. Quality processes can be automated using consistent measurement plans applicable to any portable, manual, or programmable CMM. Users can easily identify deviations and tolerance issues between measured components and the nominal CAD, ensuring a top-notch user experience. Furthermore, it enables the inspection of both drawings and CAD models with advanced Model-Based Definition (MBD), allowing for the measurement of basic features as well as intricate profiles directly. By implementing this technology, manufacturers can elevate their quality assurance processes to new heights.
