Description
The application enables users to scan real-world objects instantly and store the data in various formats such as OBJ, STL, FBX, PLY, USDZ, GLB, and GLTF. Additionally, MagiScan facilitates the export of scanned 3D models to the NVIDIA Omniverse platform and allows for their seamless integration into Minecraft as block structures. Users do not require any advanced hardware or technical skills to utilize MagiScan; a smartphone camera and the app are all that is necessary to begin. This app serves as a quick and cost-effective solution for artists, designers, and engineers looking to create 3D representations of tangible items. New users can enjoy several free scans without a subscription, providing an excellent opportunity to familiarize themselves with the app and assess the quality of the 3D models generated by MagiScan. Once the free scans are exhausted, users have the option to subscribe for unlimited access to all of the app's features, ensuring ongoing creativity and productivity. The user-friendly interface is designed to encourage exploration and experimentation in 3D modeling.
Description
The 3D Creator app enables users to scan objects in three dimensions. In its most recent update, it features five distinct scanning options: selfie scan, face scan, head scan, food scan, and freeform scan. This app comes preinstalled on various Xperia models, including Xperia 1, Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, and Xperia XZ3. Additionally, users of the Xperia XZ Premium can access the 3D Creator through the Android 8.0 (Oreo) update. The initial step in the scanning process involves calibration, where the camera captures images as you slowly move around the item, while an algorithm identifies prominent features. Using the camera's position and the collected images, a rough point cloud is generated, which lacks color. Following this, a mesh is constructed from the point cloud data, which consists of numerous 3D points known as vertices. With the information from the point cloud, the algorithm refines the mesh to accurately replicate the shape of the object being scanned, resulting in a detailed 3D model. This innovative process opens up new possibilities for digital representation of real-world objects.
