Description
A Feature-based Product Line Engineering (PLE) Factory functions similarly to a traditional manufacturing facility, but it focuses on digital assets rather than tangible components. To build this factory, your organization develops a comprehensive “superset” supply chain of digital assets that are accessible across the entire range of products. These assets come with all the available feature options provided in the product lineup. The selected features for each product are detailed in the Bill-of-Features, and subsequently, a product asset instance is generated using the Gears product configurator. The PLE Factory, driven by Gears, transforms into an automated production system that assembles and configures the shared digital assets according to the chosen features for each product variant at the simple push of a button. With BigLever’s Gears, your organization benefits from a unified set of PLE concepts and frameworks, enhancing your tools and assets, which ultimately streamlines engineering processes throughout the entire product lifecycle. This integration not only promotes efficiency but also fosters innovation within product development.
Description
SABR is a comprehensive package specifically designed for the conception and design of shafts, gears, and bearings. Its development focuses on seamlessly integrating into the design workflow to significantly shorten the product development cycle, offering an easy-to-use graphical interface that enables detailed modeling of transmission systems tailored to the current phase of the design. Furthermore, SABR facilitates sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of various geometric characteristics, types of bearings, and gear placements, providing instantaneous feedback. The underlying solvers are rooted in recognized engineering standards and leverage Ricardo’s extensive experience in product design, manufacturing, and testing, ensuring they remain current with practical testing and development initiatives. With a straightforward and user-friendly graphical interface, users can efficiently create accurate models. The software also supports bearing analysis, including life calculations and stress visualizations that take loading and misalignment into consideration. Additionally, it accommodates complex duty cycles with various load paths and supports the design of parallel, epicyclic, and bevel gears, making it a versatile tool in the field.
