Description
The GNews API serves as a robust RESTful news service that empowers developers to effortlessly search and access both current and historical articles from around the globe in real-time through straightforward HTTP GET requests that yield JSON responses. It compiles an extensive collection of tens of millions of articles sourced from more than 60,000 outlets across 30 countries and 22 languages, consistently refreshing live feeds while maintaining up to three years of archival information. An advanced in-house deep-learning extractor guarantees high-quality retrieval of full-text articles, complemented by a low-latency design that achieves response times averaging between 100 to 200 milliseconds. Users can execute sophisticated queries utilizing logical operators alongside ten optional parameters to refine results by keyword, language, country, or date range, and the endpoints provide support for paging and content expansion. Designed to be CORS-enabled, it integrates smoothly within any programming environment, eliminating the need for crawler maintenance and ensuring a remarkable uptime of 99.9%. Additionally, this API allows developers to tap into a wealth of information swiftly, enhancing the user experience with its speed and reliability.
Description
Our suite of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) enables programmatic access to New York Times data, allowing integration into various applications you may be developing. We aim to support a diverse array of implementations, from simple curated lists to intricate data visualizations. Instead of merely reading the news, why not delve deeper and innovate with it? Currently, the NYT offers ten public APIs, including archive, article search, books, most popular, semantic, Times Newswire, TimesTags, and top stories. While our APIs are primarily tailored for web developers, we also welcome all non-commercial users to participate. Like many organizations, we aspire to promote creativity through collaboration. By creating applications, developing mashups, and unlocking the full potential of our data, you help us understand the preferences of our readers and inspire new ways to conceptualize news and information. We are excited to see what innovative solutions you will develop for The Times. Our APIs are built using a RESTful approach with a resource-oriented design, and interactions are facilitated through HTTPS requests, ensuring secure and efficient data exchanges. Each interaction with our APIs opens up possibilities for new ideas and advancements in how we engage with journalism.
