Description

GHGSat stands at the forefront of global greenhouse gas emissions monitoring with its advanced high-resolution capabilities. By employing a unique satellite constellation, the company captures accurate data on greenhouse gases, such as methane and carbon dioxide, emitted by specific industrial sites around the globe. This precise monitoring allows facility operators to efficiently pinpoint, manage, and minimize their emissions. The technology has been designed to function effectively from both satellite and airborne platforms, providing a holistic strategy for emissions detection. GHGSat's services are tailored for multiple industries, including oil and gas, mining, waste management, and agriculture, supplying vital insights to aid in decarbonization initiatives. Additionally, by integrating its exclusive measurements with data from other satellites, ground sensors, and extensive databases, GHGSat produces predictive analytics that enhance efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale. This comprehensive approach not only facilitates immediate action but also paves the way for long-term sustainability solutions.

Description

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite navigation system created by the United States Department of Defense and overseen by the United States Air Force 50th Space Wing. As the sole fully operational global navigation satellite system (GNSS), it is accessible at no cost to users worldwide and is particularly popular among civilians for navigation. It relies on a network of 24 to 32 satellites in medium Earth orbit that send out precise radio signals, enabling GPS devices to ascertain their location, time, and speed. Officially designated as NAVSTAR GPS, it has been in full operation since April 27, 1995, and has since evolved into an essential navigation resource globally. Beyond navigation, GPS is extensively utilized in map creation, land surveying, commerce, scientific research, monitoring activities, and recreational pursuits like geocaching, highlighting its versatility and importance in modern society.
