Description

Flux is a browser-based electronic design automation (EDA) platform for designing printed circuit boards. It brings schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation, routing, and design rule checks into a shared online workspace. Its AI hardware design assistant helps turn plain-language circuit requirements into schematics, research components, place parts, route traces, and review designs. Engineers can edit the results, define design constraints, and review the board before manufacturing. Multiple users can work on the same design in real time, leave comments, and manage project permissions. Reusable community circuits and component libraries help teams start new designs, while live component pricing and availability support part selection. Flux exports Gerber, bill of materials (BOM), and pick-and-place files. It accepts Altium ASCII and Cadence EDIF schematics and KiCad component libraries. These imports do not include PCB layouts. Flux is used by electronics engineers, hardware startups, and product teams. A trial includes limited AI usage; after the trial, a paid plan is required to edit or export private projects and use AI. Public-project and community access remain available.

Description

Fritzing is a collaborative initiative that aims to make hardware and electronics easily accessible to everyone as a creative resource. It provides a software tool, a community-driven website, and services inspired by Processing and Arduino, which together cultivate a dynamic environment for users to document their designs, share creations, teach electronics in educational settings, and layout or produce professional-grade PCBs. This platform is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. With the introduction of Fritzing Fab, users can conveniently and affordably transform their circuit designs into bespoke, real-world PCBs. It thrives on community engagement, encouraging users to share their experiences and projects with friends while providing feedback on how it meets their needs. Additionally, Fritzing simplifies the process of creating necessary parts, with components organized into "bins" accessible from the parts palette, making it easier for users to find what they need. Ultimately, Fritzing serves as a bridge between creativity and technology, empowering individuals to explore and innovate in the realm of electronics.
