DisplaySwitcher is a versatile desktop application designed for Linux, macOS, and Windows, enabling users with multiple computers to easily switch the video input of a shared monitor and facilitate the transfer of text and files between devices. By allowing input changes through software rather than relying on the monitor's physical controls, it offers a seamless experience; if one computer is unable to switch the input directly, another connected machine running DisplaySwitcher can effectively relay the input switch request. Users can effortlessly transfer text and files using methods such as cut-and-paste, drag-and-drop, or file browsing, making it possible to work across different operating systems without the need for complex network or firewall configurations. To use the monitor switching feature, a compatible external monitor with DDC/CI support is necessary, and users should be aware that compatibility may differ based on the specific computer, operating system, connection type, and monitor used. This application streamlines workflows by eliminating barriers typically associated with multi-computer setups, enhancing productivity for users in diverse environments.
