To address the challenges posed by sparse data, the Raijin Database adopts a flat JSON format for its data records. This database primarily utilizes SQL for querying while overcoming some of SQL's inherent restrictions. Many NoSQL options fall short in efficiently handling analytical queries or completely lack this functionality. However, Raijin DB facilitates group by operations and aggregations through standard SQL syntax. Its vectorized execution combined with cache-optimized algorithms enables the processing of substantial datasets effectively. Additionally, with the support of advanced SIMD instructions (SSE2/AVX2) and a modern hybrid columnar storage mechanism, it prevents CPU cycles from being wasted.
