Description
Lokalize serves as the localization tool tailored for KDE software as well as other free and open-source applications. It functions as a comprehensive computer-aided translation (CAT) system, enabling users to translate OpenDocument files (*.odt). The internal process utilizes Translate-Toolkit to extract text for translation, converting it from .odt to .xliff files, and subsequently merges the translated content back into the original .odt format. For those using Windows, installers are accessible for download from the binary-factory, although these versions are devoid of translations and are primarily designed for testing purposes. We encourage users to participate and assist in enhancing the tool further! The Translation Memory (TM) feature now records the origins of each translation pair, allowing for efficient searching. To search for a specific string within the files stored on your disk, simply drag the relevant directory onto the translation memory tab (F7) to refresh TM, wait a brief moment, then enter your search term in the appropriate field of the Translation Memory tab and hit Enter to find results quickly. This process enables a smoother experience and streamlines project management, enhancing overall productivity.
