Description
Boss Key offers a convenient way to conceal all open windows with a simple hotkey or mouse shortcut, effectively removing them from view on the screen as well as from the taskbar and system tray. This tool does not terminate any applications; instead, it keeps them running in the background, ensuring that all unsaved progress is preserved up to the moment they were hidden. Once the situation has been resolved, users can easily restore their work to its previous state by pressing the Boss Key shortcut. Additionally, Boss Key is capable of muting sound, adjusting display resolution—particularly useful during full-screen games or movies—and bringing applications to the forefront if they are already running. For further insights into its capabilities, please refer to the detailed features list. Moreover, Boss Key has been optimized to occupy minimal memory while retaining its extensive functionality, allowing it to operate seamlessly without interrupting your workflow. Its design prioritizes speed to ensure an immediate response to any potential distractions or threats that may arise.
Description
SnapState is a macOS utility designed for the menu bar that enables users to save and retrieve named desktop workspaces effortlessly. It captures the arrangement of windows, their sizes, the configuration of displays, the applications necessary to reopen a workspace, and all open tabs in browsers that support this feature. Users have the flexibility to restore their workspaces via the menu bar, a keyboard shortcut, or set automatic restoration for changes in display, layout matching, and after waking from sleep. The latest version, SnapState 2.7.2, is compatible with both Apple silicon and Intel Macs operating on macOS 15.7 or newer. It effectively manages window restorations across multiple Spaces and can seamlessly bring full-screen applications back to their original state. However, macOS organizes windows from the same application together during restoration, meaning SnapState cannot distribute an app's windows across different Spaces. To enable browser-tab access, users must grant Automation permission, while window placement requires Accessibility permission. Snapshots of workspaces are saved locally on the user's Mac, making it a practical tool for individuals who frequently switch between various work contexts, different displays, or specific app setups. By streamlining workspace management, SnapState enhances productivity for its users.
