Description
Bodhi Linux is a lightweight operating system that boasts the speedy and completely customizable Moksha Desktop environment. The 64-bit version is based on Ubuntu 20.04, while the 32-bit Non-PAE architecture relies on an Ubuntu 18.04 foundation. Dubbed Bodhi Linux 6.0.0, it is recognized as the Enlightened Linux Distribution. With a small but dedicated team of contributors, Bodhi Linux is an open-source project that welcomes assistance from anyone interested. Currently, the team is particularly in need of programmers skilled in C, Bash, and Python, as well as translators, graphic designers, and theme creators. If you believe you have the ability to contribute, please reach out to us. Moreover, even those who cannot assist with coding or documentation can still make a significant impact through financial donations. Known for its emphasis on minimalism, resource efficiency, and user autonomy, Bodhi Linux aims to provide a streamlined experience where users can select only the applications they wish to use, avoiding unnecessary pre-installed software. By prioritizing user choice, the Bodhi team ensures that the distribution remains efficient and tailored to individual preferences.
Description
MocaccinoOS is a lightweight, modular Linux meta-distribution focused on delivering a modern, flexible, and recoverable operating system architecture through static package management and layered system design. The project is built around Luet, a fully static Golang-based package manager that uses container technologies and dependency-solving algorithms to manage packages, upgrades, and system layers efficiently. MocaccinoOS offers two distinct variants tailored for different workloads and environments. Mocaccino Micro is a musl-based Linux From Scratch distribution optimized for cloud infrastructure, containers, embedded systems, and minimal server deployments, while Mocaccino Desktop is a Gentoo-based desktop-oriented distribution derived from the former Sabayon Linux branch and designed for desktop users and workstation environments. The platform introduces a layered approach to operating system management, where desktop environments, system packages, and libraries are delivered as installable layers, reducing upgrade complexity and improving system stability. MocaccinoOS emphasizes recoverability through its static package architecture, enabling systems to remain manageable and restorable even during complex updates. The ecosystem also includes Yip, a lightweight cloud-init-style configuration tool used for declarative system configuration and automation, along with declarative user and group management capabilities that simplify infrastructure provisioning and portability across environments.
