Bitdefender VPN for AI Agents is a macOS application designed to direct network requests from compatible AI agents through Bitdefender’s VPN servers. This utility facilitates connections for applications like Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, and OpenCode via Bitdefender's MCP tools. Each individual prompt is assigned a unique encrypted connection along with an isolated container that terminates once the prompt is completed, allowing users to choose an exit location for testing in different regions. Aimed primarily at individual developers and freelancers, this tool is particularly useful for tasks involving web research, quality assurance, and comparisons. However, it is important to note that this is not a comprehensive VPN for the entire device, as it does not protect traffic outside the specified agent tools nor does it obscure prompts from the AI service provider. The beta version of the installer is compatible with macOS 13 or newer on Apple silicon, with no support for Intel Macs at this time, although there are plans for Windows compatibility in the future.
