Description
The Andon Tool is a web-based application designed to enhance communication and workflow for manufacturing teams on the shop floor. Employees can easily submit requests for production support using any device with browser capabilities, which then show up on live boards within their departments; these requests can be claimed by designated responders, while also maintaining a record of their status, responses, and completion history. Supervisors have the ability to monitor request activities through detailed reports covering various plants, departments, and work areas. In addition, the platform features production schedule boards that illustrate employee rotations and job templates, daily KPI boards for tracking performance with a green/yellow/red system, TV dashboards, and comprehensive downtime logs that categorize waste and provide Pareto analysis. There are also optional paid features available, such as Skill Matrix tools that help manage certifications and work instructions, while the Continuous Improvement Board (C.I.B.) supports methodologies for ongoing improvement, including techniques like the 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, PDCA, and A3 reporting. This versatile tool is tailored for a wide range of users in the manufacturing sector, including production-floor operators, responders, supervisors, plant managers, and teams focused on continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders can effectively collaborate and optimize workflows. Overall, the Andon Tool empowers organizations to streamline their operations and improve overall productivity.
Description
Logistics and planning serve as the vital lifeblood of a factory, enabling the creation of top-tier products. The availability of intuitive planning tools, along with real-time reports and analyses, significantly enhances the department's operational efficiency. However, delays in the delivery of materials and semi-finished goods to production cells pose the most significant challenge in the interplay between logistics and production, contributing to a subpar production-to-plan ratio. Another critical issue lies in the communication breakdowns between consumers in the production department and suppliers from the in-house logistics team. In an ever-evolving manufacturing environment, the absence of swift access to comprehensive analyses presents a substantial hurdle. This information deficit leads to a paralysis of action, perpetuating a state of unawareness in a troubling situation, which ultimately hampers overall productivity and responsiveness.
