Normfluss serves as a platform designed to enhance document accessibility by assessing, correcting, and validating the compliance of PDF files. Its complimentary assessment evaluates any PDF against the standards of PDF/UA-1 as well as the relevant sections of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, providing a detailed report on which criteria are met and which are not. When users opt for remediation, Normfluss automatically addresses issues that can be fixed by machines, while also assisting a human reviewer with subjective aspects like image descriptions and reading order, culminating in a cryptographically signed record that documents what was tested and what remains non-compliant. The platform guarantees that it will not declare a document as conformant unless both the machine-checkable components are satisfactory and all human-evaluated criteria have been verified. All processing activities are conducted on infrastructure located within the EU, utilizing self-hosted models to ensure that documents are never transmitted to any external AI service.
