Description
The ACE synthesizer stands out due to its compact design, thoughtful module selection, and semi-modular framework, which collectively facilitate an easy learning curve. While it is straightforward, it avoids being overly simplistic, maintaining a balance that offers depth without constraints. The clarity of its architecture ensures that users do not experience limitations in power. With the flexibility to link any output with any input, ACE emerges as a robust synthesizer equipped with features suitable for both novices and experienced musicians. Its modular design, characterized by the "boxes and cables" approach, empowers users to craft unique instruments tailored to their preferences. Upon connecting the sixteen modules, users will find that experimenting with various configurations can lead to innovative ideas and endless creative possibilities. The two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) serve as primary sound sources, and since ACE treats audio and modulation signals equally, the extensive low-frequency oscillators (LFOs) can also produce audio-range frequencies. Furthermore, ACE’s oscillators emulate analog circuitry, encompassing inherent instabilities and diverse nonlinear traits that enrich the sound experience. This combination of flexibility and rich sound design makes ACE an appealing choice for those looking to explore the realms of synthesis.
Description
BazilleCM is a more compact iteration of u-he's modular synthesizer, Bazille, designed to provide a powerful synthesis environment in a streamlined format. It features two digital oscillators that allow for simultaneous frequency modulation, phase distortion, and fractal resonance, thus equipping sound designers with a vast array of sonic possibilities. The synthesizer boasts a multimode analog-style filter with six outputs running in parallel, along with two ADSR envelopes that have customizable sustain slopes, and a versatile low-frequency oscillator offering several waveform options. An integrated 16-step sequencer equipped with eight morphable snapshots facilitates the creation of complex rhythmic patterns. To further enhance its functionality, the synthesizer includes multiplex units for both mixing and modulation, a built-in stereo delay, and various audio-rate signal processors, making it exceptionally versatile. With the capability to support a maximum of eight voices in polyphony, BazilleCM also features a resizable and skinnable user interface for a personalized experience. Additionally, it comes pre-loaded with over 265 factory presets that serve as creative starting points for users. Overall, the combination of these features makes BazilleCM a powerful tool for modern sound design.
